Jolene Farren
Programme Leader, International Foundation Programme. Tutor for the Creative Industries Pathway
Biography:
Jolene Farren is the Programme Leader for the QAHE International Foundation Programme at Solent Pathway. Within this role she has focussed on creating a supportive and inclusive environment for learners on the programme. Partly achieved through the implementation of a coaching provision to support leaners to achieve their full potential and have a conducive learning experience. Jolene is a Principle Safeguarding Officer for the Solent Pathway. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and has worked at the Solent Pathway Since 2019.
Jolene studied a BA (Hons) in Art Practice at Goldsmiths University focusing on sculpture and installation art. Her practice explores structures that separates public and private spaces, dividing space in ambivalent ways in terms of voyeurism, safety, and identity. Through a process of reduction and abstraction structures create a sense of both familiarity and otherness, evoking an intensity of looking and a sensory experience of space. After completing a PGCE in Life Long Learning, at Greenwich University Jolene has gained experience as a course leader delivering Art and Design Foundation Programmes to a range of creative students.
