Biography:
Alex graduated from the University of Bristol with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics in 2016. She then trained as a specialised Maths teacher, achieving her postgraduate certificate of education (PGCE) with distinction at the University of Exeter in 2017. Alex gained experience teaching Maths and Further Maths at Level 3, before moving into Higher Education, achieving HEA Fellowship in 2023.
Alex is now a lecturer on the International Foundation Programme at the Solent University Pathway Centre. She joined QA when the Solent Pathway opened in early 2019 and since then has been the tutor and module leader for both STEM Pathway modules; Foundation Mathematics and Problem Solving. Since the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) pathway covers a range of progression degrees, such as Mechanical Engineering, Computing, Psychology and Sports and Exercise Science, Alex enjoys sharing her enthusiasm with students by directly linking classwork to the range of target degree programmes.
