We welcome students at Solent University Centres from all around the world to our undergraduate courses. Whether you join us in London, Birmingham or Manchester, we aim to ensure that you get the most from your studies and take away the very best experiences from your time with us. Students come from all over the world to study with us and we want to ensure you receive the support and help you need, when you need it.

We have a dedicated and friendly Safeguarding, Student Life and Wellbeing Team in place for your support, as well as a counselling service and mental health practitioners, whether you think your issue is big or small they are here to support you.

A range of guides and resources are available to view and download on our website, covering topics including how to manage stress, money, health and mindfulness, plus a wide range of others.

The Academic Community of Excellence (ACE) Team has years of experience providing academic guidance to our students and helping them achieve excellence in their course by developing skills including:

  • Academic writing
  • Citing and referencing
  • Presentations
  • Research skills
  • Critical reading and writing
  • Group work
  • Time management
  • Maths, Excel and computing

You can book on to a workshop, a one-to-one appointment or access learning materials from your VLE (Virtual Learning Environment).

When you come to study with us, you receive in-depth advice and assistance with your career development. We understand that choosing a career path is a difficult challenge and we want you to achieve your ambitions and make the most out of your experiences.

Our Student Futures and Careers team offer a range of support to ensure you are exposed to the best possible options for work-experience and career opportunities. Many of our services can be tailored to suit your career path of choice.

You will continue to receive dedicated career support for two years after graduation. This includes:

  • 1-2-1 career advice with a dedicated graduate careers advisor
  • Access to careers tools like CareerSet and Shortlist.me to refine your CV, improve your LinkedIn profile, and prepare for interviews
  • Invites to online careers and employability workshops

Our campus libraries and librarians are here to help you find the resources you need in order to succeed in your studies. You will be met by friendly staff who will be more than happy to assist you in sourcing information and making sure you can work in a quiet environment.

Managing your finances is crucial to university life, and we’ve got your back. Our student finance team is available Monday to Friday, 9 am-5.30 pm, to help you tackle financial challenges, from tuition fee payments to budgeting advice.

The Student Relations team hold events and activities on-campus, including Freshers Week. The also hold the twice-yearly Student Inspiration Awards.

The Student Advice & Support Centre is the first point of contact for all student support enquiries. Students can contact the team in person, by phone or email to raise queries and seek support or guidance on various topics. The team will also be able to refer you to specialist teams for additional support & guidance.
