These are all important skills for many career areas and highly valued by employers.<\/p>\n<p>In the same way as in many workplaces, it\u2019s important that you give your full attention during the online sessions so you can get the maximum benefit for your learning and development.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll be expected to actively participate and engage in online classes, delivered over an online videoconferencing platform, this involves:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>having your camera on* for the session<\/li>\n<li>responding to questions and instructions from your lecturers<\/li>\n<li>using the online chat function, reaction buttons and microphone as necessary<\/li>\n<li>actively contributing to breakout sessions, including having your camera on*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If there are any occasions where you are unable to fully engage with the online class due to unforeseen circumstances, it\u2019s important to inform your lecturer.<\/p>\n<p><em>* The platform has a background feature you can use if you wish to hide the environment you\u2019re in from view. Self-view can also be turned off if you find your own webcam footage distracting. For students who may have neurodiversity or disability considerations that affect their ability to have their camera on \u2013 our Welfare Team are available to support and make any necessary provisions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u202f\u202f<\/span><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" id=\"id-custom-collapse-0-2fa2239193c5313b54cfe6c6bb4cf052\" data-parent=\"#custom-collapse-0\" data-target=\"#custom-collapse-0-2fa2239193c5313b54cfe6c6bb4cf052\">What IT hardware\/software will I need?\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div id=\"custom-collapse-0-2fa2239193c5313b54cfe6c6bb4cf052\" class=\"accordion-body panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p>You will need:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a reliable internet connection to access your live online sessions and learning resources.<\/li>\n<li>access to a computer (desktop\/laptop) that is less than 5 years old<\/li>\n<li>speakers\/headphones\/earbuds for listening to audio or video presentations<\/li>\n<li>a webcam \u2013 lots of laptops will have these inbuilt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The live online sessions can be accessed via smartphone, but we recommended that you have access to a laptop or a PC for ease of use, joining class discussions and completing assessments. If you have any queries or concerns around the equipment you plan to use, please contact our very helpful ACE Team for advice via email \u2013 <a href=\"mailto:ACELDN@qa.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACELDN@qa.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>You will be given access to Microsoft Office 365 once you are registered on your programme, free of charge.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title collapsed\" data-toggle=\"collapse\" id=\"id-custom-collapse-0-cbc41ab4c34af934a260df9854be2320\" data-parent=\"#custom-collapse-0\" data-target=\"#custom-collapse-0-cbc41ab4c34af934a260df9854be2320\">What is a typical blended timetable, and how do daytime, and evening and weekend study schedules differ?\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<div id=\"custom-collapse-0-cbc41ab4c34af934a260df9854be2320\" class=\"accordion-body panel-collapse collapse\">\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"289\">Receiving the same number of live contact hours as face-to-face programmes, a typical timetable may include:<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"399\">Daytime students \u2013 If you are a daytime student, you will typically have 2 days of tuition per week \u2013 your sessions will be on-campus for 1 of those days and the other day will take place live online.<\/p>\n<p data-renderer-start-pos=\"601\">Evening and weekend blended timetables will involve: 2 evenings face-to-face on-campus and 1 weekend day live online. Please note that the blended timetable pattern will be decided by the scheduling team.<\/p>\n<h3>Daytime timetable example<\/h3>\n<p>If you are a daytime student, you will typically have 2 days of tuition per week, with classes running from 9:30am-4:30pm both days.
